MARKADZ ABDUL RAHMAN AS-SULAYTIEN LOCATION:  ADDRESS: KAKAR, POBLACION 8, COTABATO CITY, PHILIPPINES NO. OF ORPHANS: 48 (all girls) NO. OF TEACHERS/CARETAKERS: 2 This markadz is an orphanage housing 48 girls and located in the flood prone area of Cotabato City. The premises will be flooded at least once a year. This makes the construction of toilets tricky. In the beginning, ACT Malaysia raised the existing toilets about 1 1/2 feet from the ground and raised the roof, too. Unfortunately, halfway through its completion, the structure collapsed due to the soft ground. There was no choice but to build new toilets from scratch on a different spot. The toilets were finally completed this August fitted with an electric water pump to fill the water tanks.  CONSTRUCTION THE REPAIRED TOILET THAT COLLAPSED THE OLD TOILETS

MARKAZ AASHIRA QUR-AN MEMORIZATION CENTER LOCATION: PUROK 5, KAYA-KAYA, DATU ABDULLAH SANGKI, MAGUINDANAO DEL SUR (BARMM), PHILIPPINES. NO. OF STUDENTS: 30 (all girls) NO. OF TEACHERS: 11 DATE STARTED: APRIL 2023 OPERATIONAL COST:  500 PESOS MONTHLY FROM STUDENTS STUDENTS AGE RANGE: 15 TO 25 YEARS OLD ---Previously, the students did not have toilets. They go to the houses near the markaz and use the toilets there. ---ACT Malaysia, with your support, has completed the construction of 4 toilets with septic tank and 3 water tanks. A water well was also installed nearby fitted with an electric pump to fill the tanks for bathing, wudhu and other uses.
